Which Doll Travel Set Actually Ships With a Doll?
Barbie Travel Doll and Pet with Puppy and Carrier wins for shoppers who want a doll included from the start. Barbie DreamCamper Vehicle Playset suits road trip play with its camper to boat transformation. LOL Surprise 4-in-1 Glamper covers families collecting that line, thanks to an exclusive doll and a working pool feature.
Barbie Travel Doll and Pet with Puppy and Carrier tops this list because a doll and pet ship together, so play starts without a second purchase, though no vehicle comes in the box. Families already stocked with dolls get more from the DreamCamper, which splits into a camper and a boat with over 60 accessories. LOL Surprise fans should look at the 4-in-1 Glamper instead, since it folds a pool, DJ booth and photo booth around an exclusive doll.
Product photos make these sets look interchangeable, but doll inclusion alone splits them into two different purchases. Ranking here weighs manufacturer-published accessory counts, transformation features like pop-up pools and folding stages, and how compactly each set collapses for storage. Owner reports on small parts and setup time shaped the final order.
The best picks, ranked
Barbie Travel Doll and Pet with Puppy, Carrier and 10+ Accessories
An 11.5 inch Barbie doll ships with a puppy and a soft sided carrier, so a companion is already in the box. Ten plus accessories cover a passport, boarding pass, camera and snacks for a full pretend itinerary. Mattel sells this doll and puppy pairing as exclusive to the travel line.
Pros
- Doll and pet arrive ready to travel together
- Accessories double as fine motor practice
- Carrier stores loose pieces between sessions
Cons
- No vehicle or building included
- Puppy accessories are doll scale, not a standalone toy
Barbie DreamCamper Vehicle Playset
A pop-up tent, kitchen and pool fold into one van, then the whole unit splits apart into a separate boat. Mattel counts more than 60 accessories, including a working shower and a slide, spread across three configurations. Two dolls fit inside at once, though the doll itself is sold separately from the vehicle.
Pros
- Three play modes from one vehicle
- Working slide and pool add water play
- Handles fold down for real portability
Cons
- Doll purchased separately adds another step
- Small parts need adult sorting after play
LOL Surprise 4-in-1 Glamper Fashion Camper
MGA’s Glamper unfolds from a camper into a pool deck, a DJ booth and a photo booth, four scenes from one shell. An exclusive LOL Surprise doll ships inside along with 55 plus pieces, including working lights and a real water tap. Younger siblings still get the surprise unboxing element that built the LOL Surprise line.
Pros
- Exclusive doll included in the box
- Four distinct play scenes from one toy
- Working water feature adds sensory play
Cons
- Small parts pose a choking risk for toddlers
- Setup takes longer than single mode playsets
Barbie Dream Plane Transforming Airplane Playset
One fold splits a full airplane into a runway, cockpit and cargo hold, letting up to four dolls board through pretend security. Fifteen plus accessories include a pilot uniform, snack cart and rolling luggage sized for 11.5 inch dolls. No doll ships in the box, so this plane works best for households already collecting Barbie fashion dolls.
Pros
- Realistic pilot and cargo accessories
- Folds flat for easier storage
- Holds multiple dolls at once
Cons
- No doll included in the box
- Smaller accessory count than camper sets
Rainbow High Ultimate Fashion Truck 2-in-1 Playset
A delivery truck unfolds into a two level fashion show stage with a working elevator, built for kids who already follow the Rainbow High characters. An exclusive doll and runway style accessories ship inside. Scale and detail suit school age collectors more than toddlers wanting simple pretend play.
Pros
- Exclusive doll ships with the set
- Working elevator and lighting details
- Large stage area for group play
Cons
- Bulkier to store than camper sets
- Higher recommended age limits younger siblings
Barbie Pop-Up Camper Vehicle Playset
This camper trades accessory count for a simpler build, folding a tent and picnic table into a compact van shape. Mattel counts more than 50 pieces, including a grill that converts from the picnic table. Dolls sell separately here too, matching most other Barbie vehicle playsets.
Pros
- Simpler build than the DreamCamper at a lower cost
- Picnic table doubles as a grill
- Folds compact for shelf storage
Cons
- Fewer accessories than the DreamCamper
- No pool or water feature
Disney Princess Comfy Squad Petite Doll Traveling Suitcase Playset
A rolling suitcase shape hides a pool and slide inside, aimed at kids who want princess characters without a full dollhouse. Petite scale dolls travel inside the case itself, so cleanup means zipping everything back into one shell. Smaller doll scale suits preschoolers more than kids collecting 11.5 inch fashion dolls.
Pros
- Suitcase shape doubles as storage
- Multiple dolls included in one box
- Compact scale suits younger hands
Cons
- Petite dolls do not match 11.5 inch lines
- Smaller pieces need close supervision
How to choose
What to look for in a fashion doll travel set Doll inclusion is the first fork in the road. The Barbie Travel Doll and Pet ships a doll and pet ready to play, while vehicle sets like the DreamCamper and Dream Plane sell the doll separately. Budget for that add-on if the vehicle is the draw. Accessory count and transformation features, such as a pool that turns into a stage, carry the play value once the new-box novelty wears off.
Camper, plane or suitcase: matching vehicle type to play style Camper vans like the DreamCamper and Pop-Up Camper suit kids who already act out road trips with toy cars. Airplane sets such as the Dream Plane follow a narrower script built around boarding and cargo loading. Suitcase shaped sets, including the Disney Princess Comfy Squad playset, give younger kids one shell that closes flat for cleanup. Matching vehicle type to how a child already plays cuts down on sets that get ignored after a week.
Which set fits which age group Petite scale dolls in the Disney Princess suitcase set fit smaller hands and shorter attention spans. Rainbow High’s Ultimate Fashion Truck sits at the other end, built for school age kids who already follow specific characters and want a display piece. Doll scale and set complexity should track a child’s age more closely than accessory count alone.
Keeping small parts organized between play sessions Small parts scatter fast once a pool, kitchen or DJ booth opens up. A dedicated bin, or the set’s own carrier, keeps loose pieces from ending up under furniture. Owners report that sets with a built-in storage mode, such as the fold flat Pop-Up Camper, get pulled out again more often than sets left assembled. Rotating which accessories stay out also keeps one set feeling new for longer.

Good to know
What age is a fashion doll travel set appropriate for?
Most sets list an age range starting at 3 years. Sets with small removable accessories, like the LOL Surprise Glamper, need closer supervision for younger toddlers. Rainbow High’s Ultimate Fashion Truck lists 6 years and up given its scale and detail.
Do fashion doll travel sets include a doll?
It depends on the set. Barbie Travel Doll and Pet, the LOL Surprise Glamper and Rainbow High’s Fashion Truck ship with a doll. Barbie’s DreamCamper, Dream Plane and Pop-Up Camper sell the vehicle without one.
Which fashion doll travel set has the most accessories?
Barbie DreamCamper Vehicle Playset lists over 60 accessories, the highest count among these seven, spread across its camper, boat and shower configurations.
Can Barbie travel accessories fit other 11.5 inch dolls?
Accessories built for Barbie’s 11.5 inch scale generally fit other dolls of similar height, though exact fit varies by brand. Petite scale dolls, like those in the Disney Princess suitcase set, do not share scale with 11.5 inch fashion dolls.
LOL Surprise Glamper vs Barbie camper: what is the difference?
The Glamper leans on MGA’s surprise reveal format, unfolding into four scenes including a DJ booth and photo booth. Barbie’s camper sets focus on road trip realism, like a working shower and slide, without a surprise unboxing element.
Is a travel themed doll playset worth it over a basic doll?
A travel set adds a script for pretend play, from packing to boarding, that a doll alone does not provide. Owners report kids return to transformation features like pop-up pools longer than to a single static accessory.
Barbie DreamCamper vs Pop-Up Camper: which should you buy?
The DreamCamper includes more accessories and splits into a separate boat. The Pop-Up Camper sticks to a simpler tent and picnic table that folds flatter for storage.
Do these travel playsets fold flat for storage?
Vehicle style sets like the Pop-Up Camper and Dream Plane fold down after play. Suitcase shaped sets, such as the Disney Princess Comfy Squad playset, close into their travel case shape by design.
What is the best doll travel set for a toddler versus a tween?
Toddlers do better with the Disney Princess Comfy Squad suitcase set, sized and simplified for younger hands. Tweens who already collect a character line get more from the Rainbow High Ultimate Fashion Truck or the LOL Surprise Glamper.
Our pick
Pick the Barbie Travel Doll and Pet with Puppy and Carrier when a doll and pet shipping ready to play matters more than a vehicle. Households already stocked with Barbie dolls get more mileage from the DreamCamper, thanks to its camper to boat transformation and higher accessory count. Parents shopping for a preschooler should skip the tween focused Rainbow High Fashion Truck and choose the Disney Princess Comfy Squad suitcase set instead.
